The Fondazione Plart was set up in a multifunctional space situated in the Chiaia district of Naples. Its collection consists of over 1500 objects assembled over the last 30 years by its founder Maria Pia Incutti.
The exhibits on display include design objects and fashion accessories such as bags and jewellery, toys, electronic equipment made of different plastic materials such as celluloid, bakelite, PVC and polystyrene. It is also possible to observe prototypes of objects that have become part of the history of design such as the Cactus coat hanger made by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello, the armchair made of giant grass stems by Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi and Riccardo Rosso, and the Erba table and Incastro seat, both designed by Mello.
